Interchangeable attachments
The Nova One is the only IPL device with interchangeable lamp heads, a patented design (CN Patent) that allows you to replace the attachment instead of the entire device. Switch between the standard head for large areas and the precision head for face and bikini line, each good for 500,000 flashes.
Enough flashes for years of maintenance
In the IPL hair removal guide you can read more about the clinical effectiveness of IPL, dermatological background and the safety mechanisms that ensure your attachments last for years.
All about attachments
Which attachments are included with the Laesera Nova One IPL?
The Nova One comes with one attachment: the standard head with a treatment window of 3.9 cm² for large areas. The precision head is available separately and has a smaller window (2.5 cm², approximately 36%) for smaller and sensitive areas. Both attachments work with the Nova One's ice-cooling and skin sensor.
When do I use the standard head and when the precision head?
Use the standard head for larger areas such as legs, arms, back, and abdomen, as the larger window allows for faster treatment. Use the standard head for smaller or sensitive areas such as the upper lip, jawline, bikini line edges, and armpits, where you need more control and it's anatomically more difficult to achieve full skin contact with a large window. Consult the IPL Hair Removal Guide for a complete step-by-step plan per area.
How long do the attachments last?
Each attachment has a lifespan of 500,000 flashes. In practice, this is more than sufficient for years of consistent use according to the standard treatment schedule (once every two weeks in the first phase, followed by maintenance). For most users, the attachments will last as long as the device itself.
Does the precision attachment deliver less power or a less effective result?
No. The smaller window only changes the treatment area, not the energy per flash. Per cm² of skin, you get the same light dose as with the standard attachment, just on a smaller area at a time. The skin sensor and ice cooling work identically with both attachments, so you maintain the same safety and comfort in all areas.
Can I use the precision head attachment on my face?
Yes, you can use the precision head on your face, provided you adhere to a few safety rules:
- Only below the cheekbones. Never use IPL above the cheekbones (around the eyes) for eye safety.
- Keep the intensity low (setting 1–2) and wear the included protective eyewear.
- Frequency: 2–3 times a week during the initial phase, ~5 min per session.
