All about effective treatment

Interchangeable attachments

The Nova One is the only IPL device with interchangeable lamp heads, a patented design (CN Patent) that allows you to replace the attachment instead of the entire device. Switch between the standard head for large areas and the precision head for face and bikini line, each good for 500,000 flashes.

Why two attachments?

The Problem: One treatment window doesn't fit every zone.

Too large for sensitive areas: A window that works for legs and back will not make full contact with the skin on the upper lip, jawline or bikini line. No contact means no flash, the skin sensor blocks to protect you. You lose time and the result falls short on the areas where you want to see it most.

Too small for large areas: A window that is perfect for the chin makes treating two legs an hour-long session. Most users give up prematurely, and thus the end result remains below expectations.

Laesera solves this by including two attachments: a standard attachment for speed on large areas, and a precision head for control on small areas.

FOR SPEED

Standard head

Treat large areas with an efficient treatment

  • Legs: lower and upper legs, in straight strips

  • Arms: lower and upper arms

  • Abdomen: flat areas around the navel

  • Back & chest: efficiently treat large areas

  • Buttocks & Thighs: large, flat areas

FOR PRECISION

Precision head

Treat small or sensitive areas with maximum precision

  • Upper lip: below the cheekbones, intensity 1–2

  • Chin & Jawline: precisely along the natural line

  • Axillae: anatomically hollow, requires small window for full contact

  • Bikini line: edges along the briefs, sensitive skin

  • Fingers, knuckles, toes: small, irregular areas

Important for the face:
Only use the precision head below the cheekbones. Never around the eyes, eyebrows, or eyelashes. Always select intensity level 1 or 2 and wear the included safety glasses. For facial treatments, also read the information about the skin sensor.

All about attachments

Which attachments are included with the Laesera Nova One IPL?

The Nova One comes with one attachment: the standard head with a treatment window of 3.9 cm² for large areas. The precision head is available separately and has a smaller window (2.5 cm², approximately 36%) for smaller and sensitive areas. Both attachments work with the Nova One's ice-cooling and skin sensor.

When do I use the standard head and when the precision head?

Use the standard head for larger areas such as legs, arms, back, and abdomen, as the larger window allows for faster treatment. Use the standard head for smaller or sensitive areas such as the upper lip, jawline, bikini line edges, and armpits, where you need more control and it's anatomically more difficult to achieve full skin contact with a large window. Consult the IPL Hair Removal Guide for a complete step-by-step plan per area.

How long do the attachments last?

Each attachment has a lifespan of 500,000 flashes. In practice, this is more than sufficient for years of consistent use according to the standard treatment schedule (once every two weeks in the first phase, followed by maintenance). For most users, the attachments will last as long as the device itself.

Does the precision attachment deliver less power or a less effective result?

No. The smaller window only changes the treatment area, not the energy per flash. Per cm² of skin, you get the same light dose as with the standard attachment, just on a smaller area at a time. The skin sensor and ice cooling work identically with both attachments, so you maintain the same safety and comfort in all areas.

Can I use the precision head attachment on my face?

Yes, you can use the precision head on your face, provided you adhere to a few safety rules:

  • Only below the cheekbones. Never use IPL above the cheekbones (around the eyes) for eye safety.
  • Keep the intensity low (setting 1–2) and wear the included protective eyewear.
  • Frequency: 2–3 times a week during the initial phase, ~5 min per session.
