Interchangeable heads
The Nova One has interchangeable lamp heads, a patented design (CN patent) that lets you replace the attachment rather than the whole device. Switch between the standard head for large areas and the precision head for face and bikini line, each good for 500,000 flashes.
Enough flashes for years of maintenance
In the IPL hair removal guide you can read more about the clinical effectiveness of IPL, the dermatological background and the safety mechanisms that keep your attachments going for years.
All about heads
Which attachments come with the Laesera Nova One IPL?
The Nova One comes with one attachment: the standard head, with a 3.9 cm² treatment window for large areas. The precision head is available separately and has a smaller window (2.5 cm², around 36% smaller) for smaller and sensitive areas. Both attachments work with the Nova One’s ice cooling and skin sensor.
When do I use the standard head and when the precision head?
Use the standard head for larger areas such as legs, arms, back and stomach; the larger window makes for a faster session. Use the precision head for smaller or sensitive areas such as the upper lip, jawline, bikini line edges and underarms, where you need more control and it is anatomically harder to make full skin contact with a large window. See the IPL hair removal guide for a full step-by-step approach per area.
How long do the attachments last?
Each attachment has a lifespan of 500,000 flashes. In practice that is more than enough for years of consistent use following the standard treatment schedule (once every two weeks in the first phase, then maintenance). For most users the attachments last as long as the device itself.
Does the precision attachment deliver less power or a less effective result?
No. The smaller window only changes the treatment area, not the energy per flash. Per cm² of skin you get the same light dose as with the standard attachment, just over a smaller area at a time. The skin sensor and ice cooling work identically with both attachments, so you keep the same safety and the same comfort on every area.
Can I use the precision head attachment on my face?
Yes, you can use the precision head on your face, provided you follow a few safety rules:
- Only below the cheekbones. Never use IPL above the cheekbones (around the eyes), for eye safety.
- Keep the intensity low (setting 1–2) and wear the safety goggles provided.
- Frequency: 2–3 times a week during the build-up phase, around 5 min per session.
