The figures behind the precision head
Precision head vs. Standard head
Same technology, different treatment window. See what makes the difference.
The smaller treatment window increases precision and reduces overlap in small areas. It does not affect the light intensity or the result per flash, which is just as strong as with the standard head.
Ideal treatment areas
The precision head is designed for areas where precision is more important than speed.

Get started in 5 steps
Safe and effective switching between the standard head and the precision head.
Turn off the device
Ensure the Nova One IPL is completely switched off and unplugged from the wall socket. Never replace the attachment while the device is switched on or connected to power.
Attach the precision head
Detach the current attachment and place the attachment on the Nova One IPL and press until you hear a click. Check that the window is firmly attached and correctly aligned before connecting the power.
Prepare the skin
Use the Precision Head only on clean, dry, and smoothly shaved skin. No cream, make-up, deodorant, or other product residue.
Handle with care
Treat small areas with controlled, individual flashes. Do not overlap. Always use a lower intensity level for sensitive areas (level 1–2).
Aftercare & cleaning
Cool the skin after treatment with our Aloe Vera Gel. Clean the treatment window with the cleaning cloth. Switch off the device and store it in its original packaging.
Do not use on damaged, irritated or tattooed skin. Always read the complete Nova One IPL manual before using the device or accessories.
All about the precision head
What is the difference between the precision head and the standard head of the Nova One?
The precision head has a treatment window of 25 × 10 mm, approximately 36% smaller than the standard head of the Laesera Nova One. The energy per flash, treatment effectiveness, and lifespan (500,000 flashes) are identical. The smaller window is designed for precise treatment of small or sensitive areas such as the upper lip, jawline, armpits, and bikini line, where the standard head is too large for precision.
Does the precision head fit all IPL devices?
No, the precision head is only compatible with the Laesera Nova One IPL. The attachment does not work with IPL devices from other brands such as Philips Lumea, Braun Silk-Expert, or Ulike. The click-fit attachment is specifically designed for the hardware and calibration of the Nova One, ensuring the correct light intensity and skin sensor operation.
On which areas can I use the precision head?
The precision head is designed for small and sensitive treatment areas such as the upper lip, chin, jawline, armpits, bikini line, and other areas under 5 cm². On the face, it should only be used below the cheekbones, never around the eyes, eyebrows, or eyelashes. For larger areas such as legs, arms, back, or chest, the standard attachment is more efficient, as the smaller window of the precision head would unnecessarily extend treatment time.
Is the precision head safe for use on the face?
Yes, the precision head is safe for facial treatment on the areas below the cheekbones, such as the upper lip, chin, and jawline. Never use around the eyes, eyebrows, eyelashes, or on tattoos. When treating the face, always choose intensity level 1 or 2 and test a small area first. The Nova One's automatic skin sensor blocks the flash on unsuitable skin types. IPL is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Does the precision head use more flashes than the standard head?
No, the precision head has the same lifespan as the standard head: 500,000 flashes. The flash consumption per treatment can be higher for the same area, as the smaller window requires more flashes to cover the same zone. For small areas such as the upper lip, the total flash consumption per session remains low, typically between 10 and 20 flashes.
